A good rockhound location Facebook page is 99 percent of the time they can be avoided by walking away from them. Bring back pack, water, food and first aid kit. Some places filling in holes is not possible like leaf fossil area or steep hillsides crystal digging. Pack it in pack it out and fill in holes. Meet at Homedale Park adjacent to Idaho pizza at 9 am. Come see us at the Lewiston rock and gem show. We are going to be hounding a new area we located recently. Rakes and buckets will be needed, a rock pick may come in handy as well. October 8th Fossil dig meet at Fossil Creek trail turn off outside Murphy on Saturday at 10 a.m. Great for agate, nodules, jasper and leaf fossils. Setting up camp near dam or past dam on reservoir. 8:15 leave to second site near 3rd water crossing. Going to first site off second water crossing near campground.Īugust 6th. Atv, utv ok but if not recommend a broll cart for carrying bucket. Meet at succor creek campground toilet area at 7:30 am. Camp at cafe or in desert near jasper or Snakeskin agate areas. Meet at Rome station cafe at 8 am idaho time either day. Will hit old open pit mine area first day, caldera second day. Meet at Caldera rock shop at 10 am in Mcdermitt Mcdermitt time. We are an EZ Cab dealer and you can purchase a new machine thru our store. Additional hours are $8 or with purchase of a $50 use card you get 10 hours extra useage. Members enjoy their one free hour a week on our cab machines at Earth Brite in Caldwell after their initial class for $25. We do a lot of R and D trips to continue to find great places to rockhound. Goes from day you sign up to same day next year. Dues are only $12 a year for individuals or $20 a year for the entire family. Help support our club and rock and gem store by joining our club and paying your dues. Short-notice trips will be posted as often as possible and we encourage members who know of places to go to do so. Rain cancels events or changes where we can go. Trips are subject to change based on weather and other events.
